Beyond optics and illusion: Nietzsche and photography
Selling cameras, lenses or a collection?
Imagine, entirely outside historical reality, Friedrich Nietzsche choosing a camera. A Leica might become an instrument for questioning appearances, with the shutter recording not simply an instant but a particular interpretation of it. This is a fictional encounter between philosophy and photographic equipment.

The appeal of the mechanical object
In this imagined scene, Nietzsche turns a Leica in his hands, interested in both its construction and the view it permits. A Leica M becomes a means of looking for details of life that an ordinary glance might miss.
The enduring Nikon F suggests another character: a camera carried into difficult situations, ready to meet a world that does not stand still for the photographer.
Canon and the choice of perspective
A range of Canon lenses would offer different distances and angles from which to examine the same subject. An EOS system would add another way of playing with the relationship between intention and technology.
In this fictional world, photographs made with Leica, Nikon and Canon become companions to philosophical questions. What do we choose to see? What do we repeat? What remains outside the frame?
Optics, illusion and interpretation
The imagined meeting of a restless mind and a precise mechanical tool does not reveal a final, unfiltered truth. It produces another point of view, open to examination and disagreement.
At the end of the thought experiment, the exhibition contains photographs that tell us as much about the observer as the subject. The equipment changes; the uncertain relationship between a person and the world remains.
