Systems and equipment
What equipment can you sell?
Manufacturer and focal length are only part of identifying a cine lens. The barrel, mount, modifications and accessories may also matter. Please don’t guess which film or sensor format a lens covers.
Prime lenses and sets
Photograph sets of different focal lengths together first. Individual photos of front markings and mounts then help us record the details.
Zoom lenses
For cine zooms, show focal-length and aperture markings, supports, drives and controls. Mention known focus, zoom or aperture problems.
Barrels and accessories
Lenses from Zeiss, Cooke, Angénieux or Schneider may come in different housings. Show adapters, supports, caps and any modification records.
What we need to assess your equipment
What details matter for cine lens sets?
We need the exact version and mount of every lens. Document a matching set in full, including modifications and accessories.
Lens details
Photograph the manufacturer, model, focal length and other engraved information clearly.
Mount and housing
Show the rear, adapters and known modifications. Include workshop records for rehousing, modifications or servicing.
Optics and mechanisms
Describe known damage, haze and focusing or aperture problems. Include matching cases and accessories.
You don’t need to carry out repairs or full functional tests before getting in touch. Describe known faults and mark untested items clearly. Answers about assessments, shipping and payment.
Condition and preparation
Document modifications and mounts clearly
If a lens has been modified or rehoused, photos of its current form are especially important. Older packaging may no longer describe the mount fitted. Mention documented work and distinguish it from assumptions. Don’t loosen lens cells or force unfamiliar mounts.
How it works
From your first enquiry to handover
Send photos
Send photos showing the equipment. Mention known faults and, for larger collections, where it is located.
Discuss the offer
We’ll clarify any missing details and assess the equipment as a whole. You then decide whether the offer works for you.
Agree the arrangements
We agree on shipping or an in-person handover and payment in advance. For large collections, we can discuss possible collection.
Good to know
Questions about selling cine lenses
Can I offer a complete lens set?
Yes. Show the set together first, followed by the markings on each lens. Document mismatched housings and missing caps too.
Do I need to identify the mount?
No. A sharp photo of the mount helps us identify it. You don’t need to buy an adapter.
Do you exclude modified lenses?
No. The current version and records of the work matter to the assessment. Show any documentation and known unusual features.
How do you work out an offer?
We consider the exact versions, described condition, completeness and all the equipment included. We therefore can’t promise a price based on a brand name alone.
How is the equipment handed over?
Once we agree on a sale, we arrange shipping or an in-person handover. For larger quantities, we can discuss collection if needed. Please contact us before sending any equipment.
Your next step
Show us your equipment.
Send us photos of your collection, inherited equipment or complete camera kit. A few clear pictures and a note about the condition are enough to get started.
