Analog Lounge · Camera collections and equipment
Identify your Zeiss lenses and offer them together.
We consider Zeiss lens collections, inherited equipment and complete kits from Germany, across the EU and Switzerland. Carl Zeiss or Zeiss Jena? Full markings are more useful than a hasty identification. Show us your Zeiss lenses with their mounts and accessories.

Systems and equipment
What equipment can you sell?
Names such as Planar, Sonnar and Tessar appear on different versions and across different camera systems. We assess the actual lens, including barrel, mount, condition and accessories, rather than the name alone.
Carl Zeiss
You can offer Zeiss lenses from different camera systems together. Photograph focal length, maximum aperture and mount. Matching camera bodies also help with identification.
Carl Zeiss Jena
The exact variant matters with Jena lenses bearing names such as Flektogon, Pancolar or Sonnar. Show the rear and any adapters as well as the front markings.
Accessories and collections
Include lens hoods, filters, cases, caps and extension tubes. Initially, keep parts with the lens they’ve been stored alongside.
What we need to assess your equipment
What details matter for Zeiss lenses?
For an offer, we need the manufacturer’s name, model, focal length and mount. Identical lens names don’t always identify the same version.
Markings
Photograph the entire front ring and other model markings clearly, rather than simply describing the lens as ‘Zeiss’.
Mount and modifications
Show the rear and any adapters. Mention known modifications or repairs and include supporting documents.
Optics and controls
Mention known haze, aperture faults or stiff focusing. Don’t try cleaning inside the lens.
You don’t need to carry out repairs or full functional tests before getting in touch. Describe known faults and mark untested items clearly. Answers about assessments, shipping and payment.
Condition and preparation
Show the mount and glass condition
A lens name alone is not enough for a specific offer. Well-lit photos of both glass surfaces and the mount help. Please don’t use harsh cleaners or open the barrel. Describe known stiffness, unusual aperture blades or visible haze without attempting repairs.
How it works
From your first enquiry to handover
Send photos
Send photos showing the equipment. Mention known faults and, for larger collections, where it is located.
Discuss the offer
We’ll clarify any missing details and assess the equipment as a whole. You then decide whether the offer works for you.
Agree the arrangements
We agree on shipping or an in-person handover and payment in advance. For large collections, we can discuss possible collection.
Good to know
Questions about selling Carl Zeiss lenses
Is ‘Zeiss Sonnar’ enough information?
Not for exact identification. Focal length, maximum aperture, mount and version can differ. A photo of all the markings is helpful.
Can I offer lenses with different mounts together?
Yes. Show us the whole collection. You don’t need to match every lens to a camera first.
Do you treat Carl Zeiss and Carl Zeiss Jena as the same?
We assess each actual version. Please use the markings on the lens rather than combining manufacturers’ names.
How do you work out an offer?
We consider the exact versions, described condition, completeness and all the equipment included. We therefore can’t promise a price based on a brand name alone.
How is the equipment handed over?
Once we agree on a sale, we arrange shipping or an in-person handover. For larger quantities, we can discuss collection if needed. Please contact us before sending any equipment.
Your next step
Show us your equipment.
Send us photos of your collection, inherited equipment or complete camera kit. A few clear pictures and a note about the condition are enough to get started.
