Systems and equipment

What equipment can you sell?

Canon FD kits often span several camera generations and lens versions. The size of a standard lens, an unusual prime or a motor drive tells you little about its significance. We look at the collection as a whole.

01

Cameras

Well-known bodies include the Canon AE-1, AE-1 Program, A-1, F-1, New F-1, FTb, T70 and T90. Photograph the full model name so we can distinguish similar-looking versions.

02

FD lenses

Include prime, zoom, macro and specialist lenses together. The full front markings, focal length, maximum aperture and mount version are important. Markings such as S.S.C., Aspherical or L should also be readable.

03

System accessories

Motor drives, winders, viewfinders, focusing screens, extension tubes, lens hoods and manuals all form part of the system. Please keep caps and matching accessories with the equipment.

What we need to assess your equipment

What details matter for Canon FD equipment?

For a Canon FD offer, we need to see exactly which bodies, lenses and system accessories are included. Different lens versions should be individually identifiable in your photos.

01

Camera bodies

List model names, viewfinders and motor drives, and mention known film-transport, shutter or metering faults.

02

Lens version

Photograph front markings and mounts. Place any converters and extension tubes alongside the lenses.

03

Storage

Mention long periods in storage and visible residue in battery compartments. Clearly describe untested equipment as untested.

You don’t need to carry out repairs or full functional tests before getting in touch. Describe known faults and mark untested items clearly. Answers about assessments, shipping and payment.

Condition and preparation

Describe the condition without extensive testing

Mention known shutter-release problems, battery-compartment damage, unusual noises or visible changes in the glass. You don’t need to film-test a camera for the enquiry. For lenses that have been stored for a long time, photos of the front and rear help; please don’t attempt speculative cleaning or dismantling.

How it works

From your first enquiry to handover

01 · SHOW US

Send photos

Send photos showing the equipment. Mention known faults and, for larger collections, where it is located.

02 · AGREE

Discuss the offer

We’ll clarify any missing details and assess the equipment as a whole. You then decide whether the offer works for you.

03 · HAND OVER

Agree the arrangements

We agree on shipping or an in-person handover and payment in advance. For large collections, we can discuss possible collection.

Good to know

Questions about selling Canon FD equipment

Are FD and EOS the same system?

No. Please show the exact lens names and mounts. You can still offer FD and EOS equipment together as a mixed collection.

Should I include old FD zoom lenses?

Show us the zoom lenses in your kit too. Whether they’re of interest depends on the models, condition and collection as a whole.

Can I offer an untested Canon collection?

Yes. State that it is untested and mention anything unusual you’ve noticed. That is more helpful than an unsupported claim that everything works.

How do you work out an offer?

We consider the exact versions, described condition, completeness and all the equipment included. We therefore can’t promise a price based on a brand name alone.

How is the equipment handed over?

Once we agree on a sale, we arrange shipping or an in-person handover. For larger quantities, we can discuss collection if needed. Please contact us before sending any equipment.

Your next step

Show us your equipment.

Send us photos of your collection, inherited equipment or complete camera kit. A few clear pictures and a note about the condition are enough to get started.
