Systems and equipment

What equipment can you sell?

Nikon lenses span several generations. An older manual-focus Nikkor, an AF lens and a Z lens cannot be identified by focal length alone. Complete front markings and photos of the mounts help us assess your enquiry.

01

Manual-focus Nikkor lenses

Older Nikkor primes, zooms and macro lenses may form part of a collection. Photograph the focal length, maximum aperture and mount, and explicitly mention known modifications or damage.

02

Autofocus and the F system

Show all model suffixes on AF, AF-D, AF-S and other F-mount lenses. Mention known autofocus, aperture or stabilisation problems where those features are fitted.

03

Nikon Z and accessories

You can include Nikkor Z lenses with the rest of your equipment. Show the matching hoods, tripod collars, teleconverters, adapters and lens cases.

What we need to assess your equipment

What details do we need about a Nikkor lens collection?

We identify Nikon lenses by their complete model designation and assess their condition. Focal length and maximum aperture alone are not enough to distinguish every generation.

01

Full model markings

Photograph all lettering on the barrel and front ring, as well as the mount.

02

Known working condition

Mention focusing, aperture or stabilisation problems where those features are present and have been checked.

03

Matching accessories

Keep teleconverters, adapters, tripod collars, hoods and cases with their respective lenses.

You don’t need to carry out repairs or full functional tests before getting in touch. Describe known faults and mark untested items clearly. Answers about assessments, shipping and payment.

Condition and preparation

Distinguishing F mount from Z mount

Nikon F and Nikon Z use different mounts. Even within a lens generation, not every feature is available on every camera. You do not need to test this before contacting us: photos of the markings and mount are enough to start. Please do not force unfamiliar combinations together. Describe any visible scratches, haze or stiff adjustment rings.

How it works

From your first enquiry to handover

01 · SHOW US

Send photos

Send photos showing the equipment. Mention known faults and, for larger collections, where it is located.

02 · AGREE

Discuss the offer

We’ll clarify any missing details and assess the equipment as a whole. You then decide whether the offer works for you.

03 · HAND OVER

Agree the arrangements

We agree on shipping or an in-person handover and payment in advance. For large collections, we can discuss possible collection.

Good to know

Nikon lenses: frequently asked questions

Can I offer manual-focus Nikkor and AF lenses together?

Yes. Include them in one enquiry, with the markings on each lens clearly visible.

Do I need to test autofocus first?

You do not need to carry out your own functional tests for the initial enquiry. Mention known faults and describe anything of unknown condition as untested.

Do you need photos of the rear as well?

Yes. The mount, contacts and rear glass help us identify the lens. Leave adapters fitted if they do not come off easily.

How do you work out an offer?

We consider the exact versions, described condition, completeness and all the equipment included. We therefore can’t promise a price based on a brand name alone.

How is the equipment handed over?

Once we agree on a sale, we arrange shipping or an in-person handover. For larger quantities, we can discuss collection if needed. Please contact us before sending any equipment.

Your next step

Show us your equipment.

Send us photos of your collection, inherited equipment or complete camera kit. A few clear pictures and a note about the condition are enough to get started.
