Systems and equipment
What equipment can you sell?
With 16mm equipment, the actual combination of components matters. Camera bodies, drives, magazines and lenses may have been added or modified over the years. You do not need to carry out a technical inspection yourself: overview photos, legible model names and known condition details are enough for an initial assessment.
16mm cameras
Examples include the Bolex H16, Beaulieu R16 and 16mm systems from Arriflex, Aaton and Éclair. Show the exact model name and any additional identification markings.
Lenses and magazines
Include cine primes, zooms, magazines, viewfinders and adapters. Photograph unidentified components too, without trying to fit them to a camera.
Drives and accessories
Motors, batteries, chargers, cables, grips and cases can be important to a complete kit. Keep service records and details of modifications with the relevant equipment.

What we need to assess your equipment
What details do we need about a 16mm film kit?
The complete combination of camera, lenses and accessories is what matters. Describe any modifications and what has actually been tested, rather than inferring the specification from the model name alone.
Camera and format details
Photograph identification plates and any records of conversions. If the format is not documented or known, please say so.
Complete inventory
Show magazines, motors, power supplies, viewfinders and lenses individually, with their markings visible.
Records and condition
Tell us when the equipment was last used, and include service records and any existing test material. A running motor alone is not a complete functional test.
You don’t need to carry out repairs or full functional tests before getting in touch. Describe known faults and mark untested items clearly. Answers about assessments, shipping and payment.
Condition and preparation
State whether the camera is standard 16mm or Super 16
The description 16mm does not always establish a camera’s present configuration. If a Super 16 conversion is known or documented, mention it explicitly and include any records. Please do not infer the format from the body name alone. There is no need for a test run before contacting us. Do not connect an uncertain power supply or force stiff mechanisms.
How it works
From your first enquiry to handover
Send photos
Send photos showing the equipment. Mention known faults and, for larger collections, where it is located.
Discuss the offer
We’ll clarify any missing details and assess the equipment as a whole. You then decide whether the offer works for you.
Agree the arrangements
We agree on shipping or an in-person handover and payment in advance. For large collections, we can discuss possible collection.
Good to know
16mm cine equipment: frequently asked questions
Can I offer both standard 16mm and Super 16 equipment?
Yes. State the known configuration. If you are unsure of the format, say that it is unknown and send photos rather than guessing.
Does the camera need to have been tested with film?
Not for an initial assessment. You can include existing test results. A running motor alone does not demonstrate correct film transport or confirm that every camera function works.
Are incomplete systems of interest?
That depends on the model, condition and extent of the kit. Show all available components and mention known missing parts. We assess the collection as a whole.
How do you work out an offer?
We consider the exact versions, described condition, completeness and all the equipment included. We therefore can’t promise a price based on a brand name alone.
How is the equipment handed over?
Once we agree on a sale, we arrange shipping or an in-person handover. For larger quantities, we can discuss collection if needed. Please contact us before sending any equipment.

Show us your equipment.
Send us photos of your collection, inherited equipment or complete camera kit. A few clear pictures and a note about the condition are enough to get started.
